at a loose end in Bowral Friday night...?

Exciting things are afoot at the old Jones The Grocer, now Bowral Fine Foods.

We turned up on Friday night at 6pm for a wine tasting, not expecting the treat that was in store for us. Jeff Aston and Rachel Willmont were our hosts and they put on a gourmet experience. We tasted wines a selection of wines from Even Keel : a Tumbarumba Chardonnay, Canberra District Rose, Claire Valley Riesling and a Canberra District Shiraz Viogner. These were complimented by a selection of tastes, including a Fromager d'Affinois, and from the kitchens of a one hat chef , Kurt Fegebank a Butter Based Chicken Liver Pate, and his own very tasty Hommous. A very pleasant way to start a Friday night and at $20 a head a real bargain.
